May 2026Wildflowers Subdivision
The Wildflowers Subdivision is a thoughtfully designed residential community located in Emmett, Idaho, created to reflect the area’s natural landscape, rural character, and slower pace of living. Situated on approximately 4.89 acres, the project includes 20 single-family residential lots and four common lots within an established residential area of the city.
I guided the preliminary plat process and worked closely with the development team to create a neighborhood centered around simplicity, livability, and connection to the surrounding environment. Rather than relying on heavily programmed amenities, the vision for Wildflowers focused on preserving a natural feel through intentional open space design, water-wise landscaping, and architecture that complements the character of Emmett.
A major emphasis of the project was creating a strong sense of place through cohesive neighborhood design. The community incorporates cottage-inspired home styles with modern farmhouse and rural vernacular influences, along with thoughtfully integrated landscaping, pathways, monumentation, and gathering spaces that reinforce the project’s identity.
The site planning process prioritized compatibility with surrounding neighborhoods while maximizing usability and long-term functionality. The project includes 15.3% usable open space, a central gathering area oriented toward scenic foothill views, and streetscape enhancements designed to create a welcoming and timeless residential environment.
In addition to entitlement coordination, I worked through infrastructure, irrigation, stormwater, and site design considerations to ensure the project aligned with City of Emmett standards and long-term community goals.
The Wildflowers reflects a more intentional and design-focused approach to residential development—demonstrating how smaller communities can create lasting character, promote livability, and embrace the natural qualities that make a place unique.
